🌱 Sachem Daily: St. Pat's Day Parade Back + Masks To Continue

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Sachem.

(Patch Media)

Good morning, people of Sachem! Andrew Tessler here with a fresh Sachem Daily.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and quite cold. High: 26 low: 12.

Here are the top 3 stories in Sachem today:

  1. 1st March St. Patrick's parade set for Ronkonkoma since COVID-19. Hang on people, only a couple more months until we get warmer temperatures and events put on hold due to COVID-19 are coming back. The first March St. Patrick's Day parade in Ronkonkoma since the COVID-19 pandemic has been planned for March 27, according to the parade committee's Facebook page.
The 31st annual parade will kick off at 2 p.m. with Grand Marshal Gerry McMenamin leading the line of march at Patchogue -Holbrook Road and Portion Road. (Sachem Patch)
  2. Judge grants stay in New York mask mandate case, keeping it in effect pending appeal - including in schools. The last two days have been very confusing on the mask mandates. At first, we thought that it would now be a school-wide decision after the New York State Supreme Court ruled Hochul's mask mandate unconstitutional. A day later, an NY Appellate Judge granted a stay for the mask mandate. The mask mandate will continue until Feb 1 and Gov. Kathy Hochul says she will have an answer on extending it this week. Stay tuned to Patch for updates. (WABC-TV)
  3. Real estate roundup for Sachem area. Still looking for a home in the Sachem area and getting frustrated? No worries, we have you covered by our partnership with Redfin.
