- Messy commute in store with rain and snow in the forecast. Be sure to leave a little earlier this morning as typical Long Island March weather arrives. A mix of rain and snow throughout the day will make for a messy commute and up to an inch of slush on the ground. The precipitation will be occurring all day so the evening commute may be longer than usual as well. (Sachem Patch)
- Gas prices could rise consistently for months with Russia oil ban. We all have seen gas prices rising at dramatic rates over the past couple of weeks. Everyone wants to know if there is an end in sight as prices get closer to $5 a gallon. With the presidents ban on Russian oil, expect prices to rise even higher as spring arrives. An average gallon of gas is $4.37 in New York right now, and the cheapest gas is $3.89 at Montauk Native Gasoline in Mastic. Closer to us, Costco in Holbrok is $4.04 a gallon with a membership.
