- A woman was injured last night in crash on the Long Island Expressway. At 7:25 p.m. a woman was in an accident near the off-ramp at exit 60 of the LIE. She was transported to Stony Brook Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The right lane and off-ramp were closed for a short period of time. (Sachem Patch)
- Merrimac Elementary students participate in annual 'Month Of Code'. In an effort to bring computer science to the forefront, library media specialist Lisa Martinez and art teacher Jenna Motroni incorporated coding activities into this month's activities. "During the Month of Code, students are actively engaged in coding activities that promote problem-solving skills, risk taking, critical thinking and creativity, fully immersed in a monthlong celebration of computer science education." - Sachem SEPTA: Next Tuesday members of the Sachem SEPTA are invited to a Zoom meeting to discuss COVID-19 restrictions in schools. Voting will take place on supporting a parent's choice in whether or not their child will wear a mask in a school building, strongly opposing any COVID-19 vaccine mandate for children and students, and testing should continue as an option for students, with parental approval only.
