Hello, hello! It's me, Andrew Tessler, your host of the Sachem Daily — here to tell you everything that's fit to print about what's happening in the community today. Keep reading for the latest.

First, today's weather:

Rain and drizzle in the p.m. High: 78 low: 65.

Here are the top stories today in Sachem:

  1. Work week weather report shows sunny skies and seasonable temperatures. Temperatures will be in the 70s to low 80s all week, with low humidity. The only chance of thunderstorms comes on Monday and Tuesday, with Monday having the best chance for some rain. (Weather.com)
  2. ICYMI: Town of Brookhaven confirms the second case of West Nile Virus in Suffolk County. The person, who is over 50, did not need to be hospitalized and is recovering at home. The first case was in the Town of Huntington, and you can read more about symptoms and treatment in the article. (Sachem Patch)
  3. Patch has your complete guide on how to enjoy fall on Long Island. The official start of fall is less than two weeks away, and no place is quite like New York. We have listed everything you can do in the area and if you want to travel as well. Click the link to see your options this fall! (Patch)

Today in Sachem:

From my notebook:

  • Sachem Library: "Know someone who doesn't have a library card? Encourage them to get one this month!" There are tons of benefits to having a card, and you can head to the library website to see what you can do. (Sachem Library via Facebook)
