Hello all. I'm back in your inbox this morning with your new copy of the Sachem Daily. Here are all the most important things to know about what's happening in the community today, including:
- Fire breaks out at a Ronkonkoma home.

But first, today's weather:
Plenty of sunshine. High: 47 low: 30.
Here are the top three stories today in Sachem:
- A fire broke out at Ronkonkoma home. The fire was reported Thursday afternoon at a home on Express Drive North just before 3 p.m. No one was injured and arson detectives are investigating the cause of the fire. (Patch)
- Check out this feature on the Sachem Library's Garden of Lights. The School Library Journal highlighted the library for putting on a successful large-scale event. From my notebook:
- Sachem Youth Soccer League - SYSL: Check out this beautiful goal scored by Sophia Lake, a Sachem Slammer. The goal helped take her Long Island Slammers to victory and earn 1st place at the EDP Winter Classic. (Sachem Youth Soccer League - SYSL via Facebook)
- Sachem Schools: Last week, ten students from Sachem High School East's Work Based Learning Club decorated Triangle Park in Farmingville and helped local families organize items to decorate lamp posts. "The volunteers then helped Farmingville Fire Commissioner Salvatore Russo by decorating the firehouse. The club thanks the Farmingville Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring this event."(Facebook)
