The Varsity Cheerleaders from Sachem North High School just returned from a 3 day UCA (Universal Cheerleading Association) Stunt Camp hosted at Hofstra University with great honors. The team attends camp to prepare for the season ahead, not only do they cheer at all football and basketball games they are a competitive cheer team here on Long Island as well as on a national level. The overnight experience of camp provides an opportunity for the team to bond and learn more about each other to create a positive team atmosphere while learning new elite skills. On the last day of camp the multiple teams in attendance get to showcase what they have learned in a competition typesetting and the team from Sachem North were able to return home as Camp Champions. The team also had 8 All American winners, 4 UCA staff offers and received the best pyramid award, but that’s not all, the team from Sachem North took home the coveted Leadership Award which was voted on by the other Cheerleaders in attendance.
