Sachem North Takes Down Middle Country

Boys Lacrosse team improves to 3-2 with home win against Mad Dogs.

The Sachem North Boys Lacrosse team bounced back from an ugly loss to Ward Melville on Tuesday with a solid 8-2 win against Middle Country on Thursday.

The squad improved to 3-2 in the conference and 4-2 overall on the season.

"We played well and we are proud of the boys on the way we bounced back," Head Coach Jason Mauro stated in an email. "We got back to fundamentals, getting ground balls and playing tough, hard-nosed lacrosse. We need to continue this and we will continue to get better."

Scoring for Sachem North was Joe Caridi with 3 goals, Shane Deboer with 2 goals. Matt Battelli, Tom Haun and Nick Gutman notched one goal each. Mike Calvagna dominated at the faceoff X, winning 12 of 13 faceoffs on the day. Goalies Dylan Ciolino and John Quinn had 4 and 3 saves, respectively.
