Sachem School Budget, Trustee Election Tuesday
Here's what you need to know before heading to the polls.
SACHEM, NY — Residents in the Sachem School District will head to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots for a proposed $349,999,182 spending plan for the 2022-23 school year and to elect four school board trustees.
The proposed spending plan represents a $9,643,285, or 2.83 percent, spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 2.07 percent hike in the school tax levy.
Four seats are also up for grabs on the Sachem Board of Education this year.

Incumbents Alex Piccirillo and Laura Slattery are facing six challengers, including former board member Meredith Volpe, Christopher Buckley, Stephanie Gelzinis, Stephanie Volpe, Bryan Felice, and Kelli Burnham.
The first three seats are for three-year terms, and the fourth is a one-year term.
