Sachem School Budget Passes

A proposed school budget for the 2018/19 year in the Sachem Central School District was approved by voters Tuesday.

The $322.9 million budget represents a 2.77 percent spending increase over the current year and it includes a 5.73 percent hike in the school tax levy. The budget passed by a margin of 2,688-1,491.

Board of Education incumbents William Coggin and Laura Slattery as well as newcomer Meredith Volpe won seats on the board. They all ran unopposed.
