Sachem School Budget Vote, Trustee Election Results Are In

Voters in the Sachem School District easily approved a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.

The $306.4 million budget was approved by a margin of 4,229-1,431. The budget is a 2.7 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 0.76 percent hike in the school tax levy.

Incumbent Tony Falco and challengers Mike Matlat and Sara Wottawa were elected to the Sachem Board of Education.
