Sagamore Middle School students in Gerard Giglio’s eighth grade music class have been exploring the rich history of African and Latin instruments and music as part of a unit on world drumming.

As part of the lesson, students learned essential skills associated with percussion instruments such as rhythm, playing with others and different musical styles. Additionally, students utilized their Chromebooks to view and listen to different music to inspire them and assist in emulating the different styles.
