RONKONKOMA, NY — A Suffolk Transit school bus with 19 students on board rear-ended a vehicle that had stopped in traffic on the westbound Long Island Expressway in Ronkonkoma on Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

The school bus collided with the vehicle on the westbound side of the expressway, near Exit 61, at 3:24 p.m., police said, adding that the crash "caused a chain reaction with two additional vehicles." There were no injuries reported as a result of the crash, according to police.

The 77-year-old driver of the bus was issued a ticket for traveling too close to the vehicle that was in front of the bus, police said.
