Suffolk Man Sexually Abused 3 Children Over 20 Years Ago: Prosecutors

Three children between 7 and 13 years old were abused at his home between 1997 and 2002, prosecutors said.

SELDEN, NY — A Selden man was indicted on charges in connection with allegations he sexually abused three children at his home over 20 years ago, Suffolk prosecutors said Monday.

Between 1997 and 2002, Robert Lynch, 66, subjected the three children, who were then between the ages of 7 and 13, to ongoing sexual abuse at his home on Hawkins Road, prosecutors said.

“These victims, who are now between the ages of 24 and 35, found the courage to come forward and describe the horrific abuse that they endured as children at the hands of a grown man,” said Ray Tierney, the district attorney. “My prosecutors will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that child abusers are held responsible for their actions, no matter when these actions occurred.”
