Special Weather Statement Issued For Long Island

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Long Island.

The National Weather Service issued the following special weather statement for Long Island Monday afternoon:

A wintry mix of mainly snow and sleet will move across the region from west to east late this afternoon and impact the evening commute. Any snow and ice accumulation will be very minimal, but ground temperatures remain quite cold from the recent Arctic outbreak. This will result in difficult travel conditions with respect to any precipitation that falls. It will only take just a little bit of freezing rain to cause treacherous travel conditions.
