Stony Brook Medicine Submits Plans For 30,000-Square Foot Location In Farmingville: Town

The health provider would bring "an incredible medical presence to the area," Supervisor Dan Panico says.

FARMINGVILLE, NY — Stony Brook Medicine has submitted plans to take over the vacant space on North Ocean Avenue in Farmingville, Supervisor Dan Panico said Thursday in a Facebook post.

"Ever since Amazon Fresh walked away from the property on North Ocean Avenue, I’ve worked closely with Councilman Neil Manzella to find a suitable and successful tenant for the space," he wrote. "I’m pleased to announce that Stony Brook Medicine has submitted plans to take over the vacant space, bringing an incredible medical presence to the area."

The health care provider is proposing a new 30,000-square-foot medical building on the southeastern portion of the property along Horseblock Road, according to Panico.

"This represents a significant positive change from the retail strip center that was originally envisioned by the property owner," he wrote. "This proposal presents an opportunity to put this vacant property to productive use while bringing expanded medical services and significant investment to our community."

"I want to commend the exceptional leadership staff at Stony Brook Medicine and Councilman Manzella for helping bring this proposal forward, and I anticipate a site plan hearing before the Town Board in the coming months," he added.
