Suffolk County Community College celebrates all things veterans with a robust schedule
of Veterans Day events that commenced on Monday November 7 and conclude on Monday
November 14 and applauds its recent recognition as a 2022 Best for Vets College.Suffolk has been named a Best for Vets College for the fourth consecutive year, according
to College Director of Veterans Affairs Shannon O’Neill.

“Suffolk County Community College is proud to be recognized, once again, as a “Best
for Vets” school,” said Suffolk County Community College President Dr. Edward Bonahue.

“Whether our military-affiliated students hope to advance their military careers or
transition into civilian life, Suffolk County Community College honors their service
by providing the needed tools for success,” Bonahue said.

“Suffolk County Community College is honored to be ranked, 16th in the northeast region
and 21st among community colleges in the nation. We are so proud to once again receive
this designation.”The designation is a testament to our strong academic programs as well as the collaborative
efforts to provide exemplary service to our military connected students. Special thanks
to the staff in the Veterans Resource Centers that go above and beyond to serve our
students and provide exemplary services and continued community to assure their success
in and out of the classroom,” said Suffolk County Community College’s Director of
Veterans Services Shannon O’Neill.

Suffolk County Community College provides a Veterans Resource Center on each of its
three campuses staffed by experts that are knowledgeable about a variety of military
and veteran education benefits.
