Suffolk Man Found With Loaded 9MM Glock Inside His BMW: Cops

CENTEREACH, NY —A Centereach man arrested in a traffic stop was found with a loaded 9mm Glock handgun last Thursday, Suffolk police say.

Police tried to get Jonathan Velasquez, 27, to pull over while he was behind the wheel of a 2017 BMW on Horseblock Place in Centereach at about 4:40 p.m. and he took off speeding, according to police.

When they finally caught up with him, he was found with the Glock in his possession, as well as an ammo clip, fireworks, and cannabis, police said.

Altogether, Velasquez, who has a prior weapon conviction was charged with second-and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of cannabis, and reckless driving, according to police.

His arraignment information was not immediately available.
