Suffolk Police Release Statement on Deadly Washington Mall Shooting

BREAKING: There are no current "credible threats' to Suffolk following a deadly shooting at a Seattle-area mall Friday, authorities say.

Suffolk County Police say they will continue enhanced deployments of police at shopping malls and other large gathering areas following a shooting Friday evening at a Washington State mall that left five dead.

"Our thoughts are with Washington area law enforcement as they search to bring the suspect involved in this shooting to justice," Suffolk Police Commissioner Tim Sini and Chief of Department Stu Cameron said in a statement Saturday morning. "The Suffolk County Police Department is closely monitoring this incident and we are receiving information from official sources and working with our law enforcement partners.

Five people were killed in a shooting at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, about 60 miles north of Seattle, around 7 p.m. Friday and an active search is on for the shooter.
