Suspect Tried To Use Stolen Credit Card At Target: Suffolk PD

The card was stolen from a car in Setauket and a man tried to purchase items at about 2:18 p.m. on July 29, police said.

SELDEN, NY — Suffolk County police are searching for a man who tried to use a credit card stolen from a car in Setauket at a Selden store in July.

Police said the credit card had been stolen earlier in the day from an unlocked car that was parked on Lower Sheep Pasture Road. The man, who police are seeking, tried to purchase items from Target in Independence Plaza at about 2:18 p.m. on July 29, police said. He left the store in a gray or black Honda CRV, according to police.

Suffolk Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest, police said. Anyone with information about the stolen credit card or the attempt to use it can contact Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, or by using a mobile app, which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips.
