UPDATE: Broken Hoverboard Causes Scare at Long Island Polling Place

It was reported as a suspicious package and led to the evacuation of the polling place.

A broken hoverboard caused a scare at a Long Island polling place Tuesday afternoon.

Suffolk Police were called to Gatelot Avenue School in Lake Ronkonkoma around 3 p.m. on a report of a suspicious package in the parking lot.

The school, which is no longer open to students but is being used as a polling location Tuesday, was evacuated for a short period.
