An 18-year-old Farmingville man was seriously injured in a head-on crash in Lake Ronkonkoma Monday night, according to Suffolk Police.
According to police, Joseph Hallick was driving a 1996 Toyota Corolla westbound on Portion Road when his car collided with a 2009 GMC Acadia that was traveling eastbound near Gatelot Avenue at 10:20 p.m.
Ronkonkoma firefighters needed to remove both the front and rear driver's side doors in order to free Hallick from the Toyota. Hallick was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via a fire department ambulance with with a broken femur and head laceration, police said.

The driver of the SUV, 37-year-old David Leonardi, of Lake Ronkonkoma, was not injured. No criminal charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation is continuing, police said.
