Hello, everybody! It's Wednesday in Sachem and I'm back in your inbox to get you caught up on all the most important things happening in the community, including updates on...

But first, today's weather:
Periods of rain and a t-storm. High: 61 low: 55.
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Sachem who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Sachem Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top 3 stories in Sachem today:
- Centereach medical student Riah Sharma receives white coat from New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM). The white coat ceremony marks the official start of a student's medical education. (Press Release Desk)
- Suffolk County still reeling from cyberattack. The attack took place nearly a month ago and title searches are still delayed as property sales are delayed. Suffolk County officials allowed title companies to perform title searches again on Monday, but the backlog has affected many. 'It's a little bit slower than normal, but it's going back to the pre-COVID way of doing it," Jeffrey Jimenez of EXP Realty in Hauppauge said. "What was the problem was the uncertainty of not knowing when the county was going to allow this to happen again. We were going into three to four weeks." (Sachem Patch)
- Town of Brookhaven Thanksgiving Food Drive begins next week. The annual drive will kick off Friday, Oct. 14 and officials are asking for donations of non-perishables at various town locations. "Many families struggle to make ends meet and our Thanksgiving food drive eases the stress of how they will pay for Thanksgiving," Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine said. Last year's drive helped feed 1200 families for Thanksgiving. Check out drop-off locations in the link. (Sachem Patch)
