The Sachem East 2013 Football Schedule
Big games for Sachem East football fans include September 11 Nor'Easter at home and October 12 Homecoming against Longwood.
The Sachem East Flaming Arrows are poised to take the football field again after a successful 2012 campaign that culminated in a trip to the Suffolk County Championship Game.
The season kicks off as an all-Sachem affair on September 11 when East hosts North in the Nor'Easter. Last year North got the better of East 21-14 at Fred Fusaro Stadium.
But East put together a string of wins down the stretch that carried them into the playoffs. Many might still remember the Flaming Arrows' dramatic last second victory over No. 1-seeded Connetquot on the road. The unlikely win sent them to the Suffolk County final, where their dream season came to an end against rival Floyd.
This year the Arrows won't face Connetquot in the regular season, but will take on Northport at home on September 27. The rematch against Floyd is slated for October 25 at home.
The big difference in 2013 is the absence of star RB/LB and Hansen Trophy-winning Steven Casali. Casali graduated from Sachem in June. The team begins the season ranked 8th in the county.
The Homecoming Game is scheduled for October 12 against Longwood.
