Van Burns Along Long Island Expressway In Holtsville: VIDEO

HOLTSVILLE, NY — Firefighters were called Sunday afternoon to a van burning on the side of the Long Island Expressway. Desirea Bouton told Patch in a Facebook message she was passing Exit 62 in Holtsville around 1:20 p.m. when she saw the vehicle ablaze.

Bouton took video of flames and heavy black smoke shooting out from on all sides the van, which she described as full-size. Bouton said there did not appear to be any injuries and that drivers passing by seemed to want to get a good look at what had happened.

A message left with the Holtsville Fire Department wasn't immediately returned.
