WATCH: Long Vacant Holbrook Eyesore Demolished

Good riddance, 300 Main Street.

Brookhaven Town Councilman Neil Foley was joined by State Sen. Tom Croci and State Assemb. Al Graf at the demolition of a long vacant commercial building located at 300 Main Street in Holbrook on Monday.

The building deteriorated over the years and the town issued numerous building violations to the property owner. Recently it was deemed unsafe and slated for demolition by the town, officials said. The property owners elected to demolish the building at their own cost. Also at the demolition were local business owners and members of the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce.

“This building has been an eyesore in the heart of Holbrook’s downtown business district for more than 10 years and I am pleased to see it finally come down," Foley said. "I appreciate the efforts of the town’s law and building departments, the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce, Senator Croci and Assemblyman Graf for all they did to help clean-up this property.”
