Woman Seriously Injured After Jeep Hits Tree In Ronkonkoma: Police
An East Northport woman was seriously injured after a driver fell asleep before the crash on Saturday, police say.
RONKONKOMA, NY — A woman was seriously injured early Saturday in a single-vehicle crash in Ronkonkoma, Suffolk police said.
Joseph Michael Uhl, 31, of Coram, was driving north on Ocean Avenue when he fell asleep and the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in front of 2845 Ocean Ave. around 3:08 a.m., police said.
Uhl was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A passenger in the Jeep, Lauren Daley, 50, of East Northport, was also taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.
The Jeep was impounded for a safety check, police said.
