Lincoln Avenue Elementary School, part of Sayville Public Schools, raised more than $12,000 for the American Heart Association during the organization’s annual Kids Heart Challenge, a tradition that promotes fitness, wellness, and heart health education among students.
Organized each year by physical education teacher Beth Bolger, the Kids Heart Challenge transformed the Lincoln Avenue Elementary School field into an exciting series of activity stations designed to keep students moving while reinforcing the importance of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. With the support of families, staff members, and community volunteers, students enthusiastically rotated through each challenge, demonstrating teamwork, energy, and school spirit throughout the day.
The event concluded with a celebratory highlight as the school’s top student fundraisers earned the opportunity to “pie” several teachers and administrators, including Ms. Bolger and Principal Dominic Armano, adding laughter and excitement to the festivities.
“This event means so much to our school community, and it is truly inspiring to see everyone come together in support of heart health and the American Heart Association,” said Principal Dominic Armano. “The Kids Heart Challenge is a fun and meaningful way to encourage healthy habits, build school spirit, and teach our students the importance of giving back to others.”
