SAYVILLE, NY — Five winning entries in the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County's annual Holiday Light Show Design Contest will be transformed into larger-than-life illuminated displays this December.
The organization said Monday that four individual Girl Scouts and one troop were selected as the 2026 winners. Their creations will be featured in the "Girl Scout Way" section of the annual Holiday Light Show at Camp Edey in Bayport.
Girl Scouts were invited to submit original drawings, either individually or as a troop, inspired by the theme, "What does Girl Scouts Mean to You?"
The winners:
Each winner will receive a Holiday Light Show event patch, admission for their immediate family to see their design and an opportunity to take a photo alongside their illuminated creation at Camp Edey.
The contest also helps raise money to support Girl Scouts of Suffolk County programs, camp experiences and financial assistance for girls across the county, according to the organization.
Launched in 2004, the annual Holiday Light Show features a walk-through Enchanted Forest with hundreds of light displays, a giant Christmas tree, photo opportunities, refreshments in the "Chill Zone" and visits with Santa.
"Our Holiday Light Show Design Contest is a perfect example of how Girl Scouts use their creativity and imagination to inspire the community," Tammy Severino, president and CEO of Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, said. "We are proud to showcase these designs and give visitors a chance to see the girls' ideas brought to life in lights."
Tickets for the 2026 Holiday Light Show are expected to go on sale soon. More information is available through the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County website.
