• Back to School 2026 (trihamletnews.com) — Sayville students are back in class for the 2026–27 school year, starting Sept. 3 alongside neighboring Connetquot and Bayport-Blue Point districts. Sayville also has new leadership, with John Lorentz stepping in as interim superintendent, while students across the South Shore kicked off the year with spirited parades, decorated parking spots, and first-day photos.

The suspect, believed to live in the Sayville area, fled toward Lincoln Avenue, and Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for anonymous tips leading to an arrest.

• Phantoms still have look of contenders (trihamletnews.com) — Bayport-Blue Point girls soccer is gearing up for another strong season after last year's narrow 3-2 loss to Sayville in the Suffolk Class A final.
