In the race for school trustee seats, Ziegler received 1,641 votes and Wiczyk received 1,632 votes. Both will serve three-year terms. The board is scheduled to confirm the results and make them official at its next meeting on Monday, June 8.

Superintendent Dr. Drew Patrick said turnout was much higher than a year ago and credited community volunteers with helping inform residents.

"We are incredibly grateful to our community for showing up to weigh in on these enormously impactful decisions," Patrick said. "Voter turnout was nearly four times greater than last year's. This speaks both to the importance of what was on the ballot, as well as to the commitment of the many volunteers, including our PTAs, the PTC, and Maroon & White, who worked tirelessly to provide information about the budget and bond to the community so our residents could make informed decisions."

Patrick said the adopted budget will support the district while remaining within the tax cap.

"While the budget process was once again challenging and didn't include everything we hoped for, we are grateful to our community for their input during the process, and strong community support of our students through the adoption of this budget," Patrick said. "This budget will allow our schools to continue to reach the high standards we expect for our students while staying within the tax cap. We look forward to continuing to provide an exceptional educational experience for our students in keeping with our strategic plan priorities, Learning, Living, Leading."

Board President Suzie Hahn thanked voters and election workers.

"On behalf of the Board, thank you to the community for your support of our schools and our students," Hahn said. "I would also like to thank District Clerk Honore Adams, Chair Allisa Baum, all of the poll workers who volunteered their time, and the Scarsdale Middle School staff for ensuring everything ran smoothly. Congratulations to Kevin and Omer on their election to the School Board. I look forward to serving with them and the rest of the Board in the coming year."

Scarsdale High School also held an election for two ex officio student seats on the board. According to the district, Lucy Eisenberg, representing the Class of 2027, won a second term, and Nathan Goldfarb, representing the Class of 2028, also won. The district said five candidates ran for the two positions.
