It's important that the town correct the deficiencies in the Forensic Report and that an independent auditor verify that corrective actions have taken place.

Greenburgh forensic audit progress report- asking Town Bd to hire auditor to conduct independent progress report on corrective action plan
On Thursday afternoon I received an excellent suggestion from a resident of Edgemont relating to the forensic report.
“To demonstrate progress in addressing the deficiencies in the forensic audit report, you might want to ask the forensic firm to return later this year and verify that the Corrective Action Plan measures the town is taking are remediating each item, such as reducing outstanding balances. If any of the corrective actions are not effective the firm should recommend alternate practices other local governments use that can help you accomplish that desired objective. In essence it’s an independent progress report.”
I immediately contacted Courtney Brock, partner of EFPR (the firm that conducted the forensic report). Mr Brock conducted the audit. He wrote back on Friday, June 5 stating that “to provide the independent progress report as mentioned we estimate a fee of $15,000. This would involve interviews with key individuals about the process modifications and updates, as well as review of the underlying documentation to ensure the objectives of the CAP are met.”
I have also asked that the audit be made current—to include 2024, 2025 and 2026 years. The forensic audit the Board commissioned ended in 2023. I wanted to know if there are current issues. I have written to the Town Board and have advised them that I will ask the Board to authorize this expenditure -an independent progress report and an updated audit that is more current.
I welcome the forensic report. It should be used as a guide, not a political weapon. The corrective action plan is posted below. An April 14, 2026 letter I wrote to the NYS Comptroller is also posted.
