Bd votes to proceed with repair of E Hartsdale Ave sewer without another competitive bid
At the Town Board Working Session held on July 7, 2026, the Town Board considered whether to proceed with the repair of the sewer break at 100 East Hartsdale Avenue in Hartsdale with a competitive bidding process. After a vote of 4-1, the Town Board elected to proceed without another competitive bidding under what they defined as “emergency” authority. The contractor who won the emergency bid over two years ago, will continue as the master contractor and supervise a sub-contractor who was selected to do the actual repair. The repairs should be completed this fall. I voted against this because it is an open ended contract. There should be an outcome of a defined dollar amount. I’m looking forward to hearing more details regarding the plan, cost, timing and action. The Board indicated that there will be a formal vote on July 22nd. Hopefully, the Board will have answers at that time. Please watch the video.
