A Scarsdale-Based Photographer and Fashion Designer will Exhibit at the Contemporary Art Fair NYC & American Craft Show NYC at the Javits Center, October 19-21, 2012

Collectors, art and crafts lovers will see the work of a Scarsdale-based photographer, Frank Burgel, and fashion accessory designer, Elena Rosenberg, at the Javits Center, October 19-21, with some 200 artists and artisans.

Elena Rosenberg, http://elenarosenberg.com/  has experimented with textures, colors, shapes, and drape since 2007 in designing and handcrafting scarves, cowls, shawls, shrugs, hats, gloves, fiber jewelry, and other innovative pieces. Each piece in her collection is an original design, created one stitch at a time, in her one-person studio in Scarsdale. She works almost exclusively with natural materials, including merino wool, baby alpaca, silk, cashmere, and fine cottons and adds new styles to the collection throughout each year.

Frank Burgel, www.fbfotografie.com, is a German-born photographer, designer and art collector. Educated at Columbia University in New York and Institut Europeen d'Administration des Affaires in Paris, he lived in Germany, England, France and Iran before settling in New York.
In his New York studio he works individually and collaboratively on his collection of photographs and sculptures. This is where he originated the concept of introducing sculptural elements into his photographs. The photos are printed on artist canvas and then treated with various surface materials like pigment, sand, paint, sawdust, papier-mâché etc.  They are then encased in epoxy giving them a glossy and variable surface—such as bubbles or impurities.
