Bhandari-Young, Mian, Talanki Named Intel Semi-Finalists

They are among 14 Westchester kids who made the first cut in the prestigious national science contest.

Edgemont seniors Vikrampal Bhandari-Young and Apoorva Talanki and Gibran Mian of Scarsdale High School are among 300 semi-finalists in the prestigious Intel Science Talent Search.

They receive a $1,000 prize—and $1,000 for the high school.

In all, 14 Westchester students got to the semi-finals out of 1,839 entrants. They're in the running for 40 finalist slots; 11 will win the top prizes. Finalists will be announced Jan. 25.
