What Is Downward Facing Dog Anyway?

By Basia Kinglake
Wish you felt less stressed, stronger, more confident and more in touch with your body? Do you have a hard time relaxing? Does your mind jump from one thought to another? Do you often feel like you “are running on empty?”
There are many different perspectives and thoughts about yoga. Some say you should be able to touch your toes; some think it is a spiritual exercise and experience; some think that you should be able to move your body like a contortionist; and others that you have to practice in sauna intense heat.

The truth is that yoga is a way of life. It is a tool to teach you how to breathe, how to calm your mind, how to really get in touch with yourself and how to feel good. However, it is, as is true of most things in life, a process. So, if you are contemplating taking that first step – perhaps to understand down facing dog – or even if you are at a precontemplative stage, come explore yoga and yourself.
Join Basia and Patty for their workshop coming up.
