Choose Your School Board Nominating Committee Members Today

If you didn't vote this morning, polls will continue to be open from 2-9 p.m. in the Scarsdale Middle School auditorium lobby.

With today's gray weather, it's hard to start thinking forward toward spring. But May's School Board elections are swiftly approaching, and it's finally time for Scarsdale to choose its School Board Nominating Committee Members (SBNC).

Polls in the Scarsdale Middle School auditorium lobby were open from 7-10 a.m. this morning, and will continue to run from 2-9 p.m. Criteria states that voters must be a U.S. citizen, 18 or older and a Scarsdale resident of at least 30 days before the election.

The SBNC, a panel responsible for finding and nominating Board of Education candidates, is elected by residents of their elementary school units in Scarsdale (Edgewood, Fox Meadow, Greenacres, Heathcote and Quaker Ridge). Each election unit selects six voting members (two each year) to serve staggered three-year terms. 10 voting members are elected to the 30-member SBNC each year.
