Citing 'Treacherous' Roads, Scarsdale Closes Schools Wednesday
The district said that remote learning was not an option because of staffing problems and a high level of reported student absences.

SCARSDALE, NY — Because of "treacherous" roads, district officials made the decision to close schools Wednesday in Scarsdale.
"Unfortunately, we have reached a point where these conditions and our inability to staff our buildings are causing us to close schools for the day," according to a district spokeswoman.
She said that remote learning was not an option due to high levels of reported absences and faculty and staff who are in the middle of commuting in hazardous conditions.
