Con Ed gaswork on Central Ave- starting time will begin an hour later
The change will reduce traffic problems during school rush hour!
Received a bunch of complaints this AM about Con Ed gas work on Central Ave impacting Underhill and Old Army Roads. Work will continue till July. Once the work is completed Central Ave will finally be repaved. I am pleased that the police department was able to work with Con Ed to change the work schedule to reduce traffic flow problems during school drop off hours.

After much consideration for the impacts the Con-Edison Gas work is having on traffic along Central Ave in the area of both Underhill and Old Army Roads, we have asked that Con-Edison change the daily start time from 8am to 9am moving forward. They have agreed to make this accommodation for us. We believe that this 1-hour difference should have a positive impact on the traffic flow during school drop off. Our officers assigned to this location will continue to monitor the traffic conditions as a result of this necessary gas line work.
