Earth Day And Global Conversations On Monday At Scarsdale Schools
Two special events are taking place on April 23.

Students and staff at Scarsdale Public Schools are gearing up for two events on Monday.
At the , the first graders are presenting a show entitled, "Every Day Is Earth Day."
Friends and family members are invited to attend the show at 9:15 a.m. in the school's auditorium.

"It is a musical revue that will include songs with movement, and each class will recite a poem as a group," Katherine Bescherer, General and Vocal Music Teacher at Heathcote said in an announcement. "As the title suggests, all the songs are Earth Day-related."
The "short but sweet show" will coincide with the opening of Heathcote's Poetry and Art Festival, according to Bescherer..

Poetry will be on display throughout the school hallways.
Also on April 23, is hosting "A Global Conversation" at 7:30 p.m.
The event, being held in the auditorium, will feature consul generals from Botswana, Brazil, China, Indonesia, and Trinidad and Tobago, according to Press Officer Vicki Presser.
The consul generals "will give an overview of their countries and highlight a significant change or innovation that has had a positive impact on their countries," Presser said in an announcement.
The keynote speaker is Sergio Trindade of Brazil, co-laureate of the 2007 Nobel Peace prize, as member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, she said.
Monday's event will include performances by the Scarsdale High orchestra and band, under the direction of Amedee Williams and Jason Noble.
The District Interdependence Committee, STI Earthlinks, the Scarsdale Center for Innovation, and the Multicultural Committee Chairs of the PTAs are all sponsors of the event.
