Edgemont School Board of Education Meeting Tonight
The Edgemont BOE is discussing transportation and anti-bullying programs tonight. The school budget is on tap for the April 3 meeting.
A "No Place for Hate" initiative and school transportation are on the agenda for tonight's Board of Education Meeting.
Tonight, the discussion on transportation will continue, along with a new discussion on the Dignity for All Students Act, which includes a K-12 initiative entitled "No Place for Hate."
Also on the agenda for tonight, the BOE is accepting three gifts for the school district. The board will accept $289.98 from the PTA for two printers at Seely Place; $2,000 from anonymous donors for Seely Place; and $500 from the PTSA for t-shirts for the "Day of Silence," part of the "No Place for Hate" initiative.

The board will also authorize a new Jewish Culture Club and appoint two new spring coaches, an assistant baseball coach and an assistant girls' lacrosse coach, according to the agenda.
The next Edgemont Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 3. At that meeting, the board will adopt a budget proposal for the 2012-2013 school year. That budget will be presented to the voters on May 15.

Currently, the district has a proposed budget of $50,029,261. That includes a projected tax-rate increase of 3.42%, according to the school budget announcement.
