Edgemont School District Tops in the Country: 2015 Niche Rankings
In addition to Edgemont, the other Westchester districts to make the website's Top 10 were Scarsdale (#5), Rye (#8) and Chappaqua (#10).

The Edgemont Union Free School District in Greenburgh has been named the nation’s best, according to the 2015 Niche Rankings.
In the nine criteria by which districts are judged - Academics, Administration & Policies, Educational Outcomes, Extracurriculars, Health & Safety, Resources & Facilities, Sports & Fitness, Student Culture & Diversity and Teachers - none of Edgemont’s grades were below an ”A.”
In fact, Academics, Administration & Policies, Educational Outcomes, Extracurriculars, Health & Safety and Teachers all received grades of “A+.”

“The workload, especially if you are in all honors and AP classes, can be a lot, but teachers are usually understanding and helpful,” one reviewer wrote about the Edgemont district on Niche.com.

Founded in 2002 by Carnegie Mellon University students, the website is all about reviewing and ranking educational facilities from pre-k through grad school.
In all, Niche ranks 8,738 districts “based on dozens of key statistics and 4.6 million opinions from 280,000 students and parents. A high ranking indicates that the district contains great schools with exceptional teachers, sufficient resources, and a diverse set of high-achieving students who rate their experiences very highly.”
