Afya Foundation Founder to Speak at League of Women Voters Luncheon

Danielle Butin, founder and Executive Director of the Afya Foundation, will discuss "Having a Vision and Bringing It to Life: Social Entrepreneurship in Action" at the League of Women Voters of Scarsdale's Food for Thought Luncheon at Scarsdale Golf Club on Friday, October 22. Members of the community are invited to attend.

Almost three years ago, Ms. Butin launched the Afya Foundation, a large-scale medical supply recovery organization in Yonkers. Since March 2008, Afya has shipped over 2 million pounds of recovered medical supplies to hospitals in Haiti and Africa. Come to hear how one person's leadership and vision are able to make a difference and how Afya has grown into an internationally recognized effort.

The luncheon will begin at 11:45 am. To RSVP, call Anne Lyons at 725-9810. The cost is $40 per person ($45 after October 19) and is payable in advance or at the door. To pay in advance, make your check payable to League of Women Voters of Scarsdale and mail to Anne Lyons, 82 Greenacres Avenue, Scarsdale 10583.
