J/Connections: A Cultural Day for Seniors at JCC Mid-Westchester with Jewish Educator Susan Lawi "Jews of India"

J/Connections will offer a cultural, social and informational day for seniors on Thursdays.  Socialize over kosher style brown bag lunches brought from home.  Light refreshments served.

10:30 - Noon:  Jewish Educator Susan Lawi will take us on her tour if India.  Learn about the Synagogues, traditions, origins and customs of the Jews of India.

1:00 pm - 2:30 pm:  The afternoon continues with a documentary by author Sadia Shepard, who wrote the book, "The Girl from Foreign."  In the documentary, "In Search of Bene Israel," Shepard seeks to understand her grandmother's history and the future of the 3500 Bene Israel who remain in India.
