This Thursday at 8:00 pm in Chase Park will be your last opportunity to see and hear the 86 member Westchester Band in concert this summer. Conductor Alan Hollander has presented six marvelous programs this season and the final one will continue in that tradition. Principal soloist for the evening will be soprano Michele Eaton, acclaimed internationally for her performances with major orchestras, and as well with Peter Schickele and the music of P.D.Q. Bach. Concert Master Thomas Heimer will be heard in McGinty's "Concert Piece for Clarinet and Winds". The band will perform " Variations on a Theme by Grieg", an original composition by Eugene Kim, Edgemont H.S. Class of 2012, and a clarinetist in the band. The band will be heard in Dixieland, Big Band and light classics plus the popular "mystery tune" which could have you going home with a prize from a Scarsdale merchant. This season of concerts have been presented by the Scarsdale Dept. of Parks and Recreatiion and Friends of Westchester Band a non-profit organization that accepts donations. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and join us for the final concert of the summer by this wonderful musical organization.
