Westchester Band

Celebrate the 4th of July on the 5th of July in Chase Park with the Westchester Band in their 2nd free concert of the 2012 season. Conductor Alan Hollander has titled the program "Salute to America" with a mix of "Independence Day" favorites for concert band. Included are works by Bernstein, Anderson, Gershwin, Sousa, and others. Dr. Phillip Leslie, Joe Stamboni and Frank Huber will be heard in Leroy Anderson's "Buglers Holiday". You'll also hear Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overtrure". The 80 member band is supported by the Scarsdale Dept. of Parks and Recreation as well as Friends of the Westchester Band, a non profit organization that accepts donations. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and join us on Thursday July 5th in Chase Park at 8:00pm.
