UPDATE: Body Found in Rubble of Burned-out Scarsdale Home

Fire officials said a longtime family physician and his wife were home at the time of the blaze.

SCARSDALE, NY — A body has been found in the Scarsdale home that was destroyed by fire Sunday afternoon.

Lohud.com said the body is believed to be that of the homeowner, Dr. John Salimbene, a family physician.

The body was found Monday afternoon.

SCARSDALE, NY — A Scarsdale doctor is missing after a fire destroyed his home and office Sunday afternoon.

Dr. John Salimbene and his wife Marie were home around 3:20 p.m. when the fire broke out, lohud.com said.

Marie Salimbene was rescued from the Boulevard home and taken to the hospital for treatment of her burns. Fire officials said they were still searching for Dr. Salimbene.

SCARSDALE, NY — A fire in a two-story Scarsdale home Sunday afternoon may have trapped one person inside.

Fire officials said the wife of the couple who lives in the house made it out and was taken to Scarsdale Medical for treatment, FIOS1 News said.

Part of Post Road remains blocked as firefighters investigate the cause of the blaze.

Lohud.com said part of the house serves as a medical office for Dr. John Salimbene.
