Greenburgh Considers Installing New Sidewalks in Edgemont

Along three roads in particular.

Greenburgh officials are considering installing new sidewalks along Seely Place, Ardsley Road and Fort Hill Road, and have released a feasibility study examining the issue.

According to Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, several Edgemont residents have requested sidewalks in the past year, which led the town to commission the 48-page feasibility study. Click here to view the full report.

The cost of the project would be almost $1.2 million, for which town officials might turn to the state for all or part of the funding. No specific time frame was disclosed on when a decision will be reached in relation to sidewalks for those three roads.

“The Town of Greenburgh is working hard to make our town more pedestrian friendly. This year 1.6 miles of new sidewalks have or will shortly be built around town,” said Feiner in a statement.
