Update: Greenburgh Police Say Missing 16-Year-Old Boarded Southbound Train
Christine "Ji Woo" Kang, an Edgemont High School junior, has been missing since Friday night, Jan. 2.
Update at 6:42 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, 2014: Greenburgh Police say that investigators learned Monday afternoon that Ji Woo Kang (who also goes by the name Christine Kang) boarded a southbound train in Scarsdale Friday night after running away from home.
Police Chief Chris McNerney released the following statement about the case:
The Greenburgh Police Department is still actively attempting to locate missing 16 year old Christine (Ji Woo) Kang. We have relied on intelligence gathered from family members and the community to direct the initial steps of the investigation. Today, we have expanded our search with the assistance of the Westchester County Police Aviation and Canine Units.

At approximately 5:00pm this evening, Greenburgh Police investigators positively confirmed that Christine boarded a southbound train at the Scarsdale Train Station on Friday, January 2, 2015, at approximately 10:15pm. Photos of Christine obtained from the Scarsdale Train Station are attached to this email.
We are still asking anyone that has had communication with Christine within the last month to contact Greenburgh Detectives at 914-989-1700. All calls can be kept confidential.

Update at 2:28 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, 2014: Greenburgh Police have called in the Westchester County Police Aviation Unit to help find missing teen Christine “Ji Woo” Kang, who ran away from her Scarsdale home Friday night, Jan. 2, following an argument with her parents.
According to officials, Kang, who is 16 years old, has run away from home before, but she always returned a short time later. In this case, she has not been seen since Friday and did not report to school - Edgemont High School where she is a junior - this morning.
Residence, police K-9 and neighborhood searches were conducted over the weekend with negative results, and police have expanded their efforts into other communities.

Original story: Greenburgh police are working with the parents of 16-year-old Scarsdale resident Christine ”Ji Woo” Kang to find the missing teen, who was last seen Friday night, Jan. 2, at about 8 p.m.
According to social media posts and The Journal News, Kang left her home on Robin Hill Road Friday and was wearing Ugg boots but no coat. She was dressed in a mint green flannel top and white flannel pajama pants with a pink and mint green snowflake design.
Kang stands about 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighs about 120 pounds and has long black hair.
Reached Monday morning, Greenburgh Police Chief Chris McNerney said the department intends to update the situation at about noon. He did not offer further details.
