Hartsdale Man Drags Victim By The Hair, Arrested On Assault Charge: New Canaan PD

The incident allegedly occurred Sunday night.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 49-year-old Hartsdale, NY man was arrested on third-degree assault and disorderly conduct charges Sunday night, Aug. 27, after he allegedly yanked out a clump of hair from a victim he dragged by the hair during an altercation at a New Canaan residence, according to police.

Arrested by New Canaan police at about 9 p.m. was Christopher O. Johnson, of Dunham Road, following the Heritage Hill Road incident.

"An investigation into this incident determined that Johnson assaulted the victim and pulled a clump of hair out of the head of the victim when dragging the victim during the dispute," wrote New Canaan police in a statement. "

The circumstances surrounding the altercation, and any information concerning the victim, were not disclosed.

Johnson was released after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 28.
