Humidity On The Rise: Scarsdale's Work Week Weather

SCARSDALE, NY — The work week starts off picture perfect in the Hudson Valley with sun mixing with clouds and low humidity. However, humidity will be on the rise for the rest of the week with scattered showers and chances of thunderstorms pretty much every day.

“We’re tracking an area of disturbance well off to our west,” said Hudson Valley Weather’s Bill Potter. “We may see some showers and thundershowers early on Tuesday, primarily focused in the Catskills and northern HV. Then we’ll have to watch for afternoon T-Storms in the mid and lower HV.”

Temperture-wise, the northeast won’t be sweltering this week as much as the mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley, said AccuWeather Senior Jim Andrews.

“Toward the north, there will be no lasting heat, and residents will be dodging thunderstorms,” he said, adding that any thunderstorm can turn severe and produce drenching downpours.

Here’s the five-day forecast from the National Weather Service for southern Westchester:

• Today: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. South wind 7 to 11 mph.
• Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind 3 to 7 mph.
• Tuesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
• Tuesday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. South wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Wednesday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Wednesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69.
• Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86.
• Thursday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68.
• Friday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81.
• Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.
